The price of personal data is about 200 dollars

Private information about a single customer or business partner are worth nearly 4,000 CZK. This is a result of a survey among 45 companies which publicly admitted leakage of private information in 2009. Estimated price is calculated from the financial losses caused but the data leakage and number of leaked records. Annual increase of the value is only 2 dollars, however, in the last 5 years this value increased by more than 60 dollars.

The information most often leaked due to failure of security by the employees (losses of laptops, disks) and publishing information by employees. These two ways form together more than 75% incidents. The rest are thefts and hacker attacks which are often considered the highest and only threat by mistake.
